But mainly

I don’t know exactly when I started crying, probably when Frankie walked in with the planks for the shelving. I knew this chapter was going to carve my heart out but I didn’t expect it to hurt so well.

His comforting is everything….her strength is everything. I just love them both so so much. They will be fine for now. Not necessarily happy, but they won’t (aren’t) afraid anymore and that is maybe the precourser to happy. Incandacendly happy. That is what they deserve.

Poor man looks so uncomfortable 🙁

Our poor baby is naked in front of the Space Nazis 🥺

Sometimes I think about what Migs thinks about seeing Din’s face. I mean, Migs has a lot of other trauma and things to work though here but.

He was bested by this man. He watched him single-handedly take down a group of security droids in spectacular fashion and kick ass all over that prison ship. Migs visibly flinched when he saw Din again, all the color running out of his face coming up against that wall of human punishment.

And then he sees Din’s face. The murder machine incarnate…and he’s just a guy. A vulnerable guy who is putting his ass on the line to save one child. This punisher doesn’t know how to smirk or condescend, he doesn’t even know how to use his face to intimidate. Shit, he probably doesn’t even know how fkn good looking he is. That’s some mama’s boy mug right there.

This is one of my very favorite episodes because of the enormous character shift in both of them and in regards to each other. Seeing Din’s face is just such a bonus.

I, mean, it’s a big bonus. Brown Eyes FTW.

But still. Did Migs fall in love? Just a little? In his own way?

I posit a yes.

[ID: gifs from the movie Monty Python and th Holy Grail (1975).

The first gif shows two peasants digging in the grass, one looking up towards the camera and speaking to someone offscreen, saying, “Listen: Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.”

The second gif shows the peasant’s face from closer as they continue, “Suprememe executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcial aquatic ceremony.” Someone off screen commands, “Be quiet!”

The third gif the peasant continues, “You can’t expect to wield suprememe executive power just ‘cause some watery tart threw a sword at you!” The voice from offscreen shouts again, “Shut up!”

The fourth gif has the peasant now sitting up straight and saying, “I mean, if I went around saying I was an emperor just because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me, they’d put me away!”

The fifth gif shows the peasant now standing, being attacked by someone in a crown and white robes, who is shouting, “Shut up! Will you shut up?” The peasant just shouts in reply, “Now we see the violence inherent in the system!” The other peasant walks away.

The last gif shows the peasant struggling in the grip of the nobleman, who shouts again, “Shut up!” but the peasant just shouts, “Come and see the violence inherent in the system! Help! Help! I’m being repressed!”
